An umbrella is a very special thing:
It shields us from the rain,
keeping us warm and dry.
In the harsh or glorious sun,
it creates shade and comfort.
There is nothing sadder than a man clutching
an umbrella as it is ripped from his hands,
it tumbles and flips across the pavement ,
or is thrown from his grasp.
There is nothing sadder than a weary, withered umbrella,
alone in the gutter after a storm.
